I don't profess to be a writing master or anything, but here are a few things I have learnt over the years. Also included are a number of links to other writers and and resources that you may find useful. I know that I have during my writing experiences (especially when I was starting out.)
The steps I take after I've dreamt up a random novel idea can be broken down into four distinct parts.
Planning your story: This is the beginning and the most important part of the process. Once your plan is complete, you can start researching the different aspects of your story. Click here to read more.
Character Profiles: This is another important step as every good story needs good characters. You can read more about character profiling here.
Writing your story: This is where the 'rubber hits the road' and the real work begins. In this section you find information on how to set aside time for writing, setting writing targets and how to flesh out the chapters in your story. Click here for more information.
Finishing & Editing: Just when you thought all the hard work was over, now comes the polishing phase. It will help if you have good friends who will give you honest feedback. An alternative is to post your story online and gain feedback that way. Read more here.
